Terms

The terms for business customers buying and using ThingSIM IoT data SIMs in Ireland, from ordering and billing to suspension, cancellation and returns.

Last updated: 4 November 2026

These terms are an adaptation of the ThingSIM terms for business customers in Ireland. If this version and the English version used on thingsim.com differ, the version on thingsim.com prevails; this version is provided for convenience.

1. Who we are

ThingSIM is a trading name of Netavo Global Data Services Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 11798207, whose registered office is at Beckside Court, Annie Reed Road, Beverley, HU17 0LF, United Kingdom. Our directors are listed on the company's public register entry at Companies House. You can contact us at hello@thingsim.com or through the contact page.

2. Business customers only

We sell through this site to business customers only: companies, partnerships, sole traders and other organisations buying for the purposes of their trade, business or profession. We do not sell to consumers here. By ordering, you confirm that you are ordering for business purposes. “You” means the business that holds the account. These terms apply to every order request you send us and to every SIM on your account.

3. What we sell

  • SIMs. An eSIM, delivered as a QR code in the portal, or a physical trio SIM (mini, micro and nano in one card). Each SIM costs €2.49 once, ex VAT.
  • Plans. A monthly data allowance per SIM, on Ireland multi-network coverage or Europe roaming coverage. Current plans and prices are on the plans page; larger Europe allowances are priced on request.
  • Delivery. €5.49 per order of physical SIMs, ex VAT. eSIMs need no delivery. Physical SIMs are posted from the United Kingdom, to addresses in Ireland, the rest of the EU and the UK. The carrier may charge import VAT, customs duty or a handling fee when they arrive; these are yours to pay. An eSIM avoids postage and import charges.
  • Extras, such as a static public IP at €9.49 a month per SIM, where offered.

4. Ordering

Online ordering is not open on this site yet. You order by sending an order request through the contact page, saying how many SIMs you need, eSIM or physical, the delivery address for physical SIMs and your company's VAT number. A contract is formed when we confirm your order by email; we then set up your account and your SIMs. Up to 25 SIMs can be ordered per order request; larger fleets are set up with us on separate terms.

You agree that the details you give are accurate and that you will keep them up to date. SIMs are then managed in the ThingSIM portal at my.thingsim.com.

5. Prices, VAT and payment

Prices are shown ex VAT, and no VAT is added to them. Our supplies to you are made under the VAT reverse charge: you, the customer, account for Irish VAT to Revenue. Our invoices state that the reverse charge applies and show your VAT number, so please give us a valid VAT number with your order request.

Plans are billed monthly per active SIM. Payment terms and the payment method are confirmed with your order.

6. When billing starts

SIMs arrive inactive. Billing for each SIM starts when you activate it, or automatically 30 days after we despatch it (30 days after it is issued, for an eSIM). Before a SIM is activated automatically, we email you at least 5 days' notice. A SIM goes live on the network the next working day after it is activated.

Plans are billed monthly in advance, per active SIM. There is no minimum term. Your first SIM to start billing sets your billing date: it is charged a full month from the day it is activated, and that day of the month becomes your billing date. A SIM that starts billing later is charged pro rata to the next billing date, then monthly in advance with the rest.

7. Data allowance

Each SIM has the monthly allowance of its plan. When a SIM uses its allowance it is barred until the start of the next billing period; there is no overage charge. You can upgrade a SIM in the portal at any time: an upgrade applies at once and is prorated for the rest of the period. A downgrade applies from the next period.

8. If a payment is late

If a charge is not paid when it falls due, we email you to tell you and give you at least 3 days to pay. If it is still unpaid after that, all SIMs on the account may be suspended until you pay. Paying restores them. While any charge is unpaid, no new SIMs can be activated, by you or automatically.

We may cease SIMs that remain suspended for non-payment for 60 days. Ceasing does not cancel the amount owed.

9. Pausing and cancelling SIMs

You can pause a SIM in the portal; a paused SIM is still billed. You can cancel (cease) a SIM in the portal at any time. A cancelled SIM is billed to the end of the period already paid, with no partial refund, and cannot be reactivated.

10. Using the service

You must not use ThingSIM SIMs unlawfully, to send spam, to attack other systems, or in any way that harms our network or our network partners.

You are responsible for the devices a SIM is used in, for keeping your account credentials secure, and for anything done with SIMs on your account.

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee coverage, speed or uptime at any location. Coverage depends on the mobile networks and on where the device is. We will tell you about planned work where we can.

11. Returns

You can return unused, never-activated physical SIMs within 14 days of delivery. See returns for how.

12. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

Subject to the paragraph above, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data or business, and our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the charges you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.

13. Changes to these terms and to prices

We may change these terms or our prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email of any change that affects SIMs already on your account. You may cease the affected SIMs without charge before the change takes effect.

14. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. This does not exclude any mandatory rule of Irish law that applies to you and cannot be excluded by contract.
