Order 250 MBSet up a ThingSIM data SIM in a Robustel R1510 industrial 4G router: SIM size and plan, the RobustOS Link Manager APN settings, PIN, status checks and troubleshooting.
The Robustel R1510 is a compact industrial LTE Cat 4 router used for telemetry, meters and remote PLCs. It takes a mini SIM, and a ThingSIM connects once the APN is entered in the RobustOS Link Manager.
Specifications and menu paths checked against Robustel's own documentation on 3 November 2026; sources are listed at the end. Menus can move between firmware versions, so if yours differs, follow the manual for your version.
A small DIN-rail-friendly industrial router running RobustOS. A separate model, the R1510e, has an embedded eSIM.
Compatible. Robustel lists LTE bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 and 28 for its EMEA versions (order codes A004800707, A004800711 and A004800712, UKCA certified), with 2G on bands 3 and 8 as a fallback, covering the bands used by all four UK networks. Robustel's product page lists one mini SIM (2FF), so order a physical ThingSIM at the largest size.
For telemetry and occasional remote access, UK 4-network 250 MB at £1.20 a month is a good start; move up to 1 GB if you log in remotely often.
Status → Modem Status shows registration, network provider, network type and signal strength (RSRP, RSRQ, SINR). Interface → Cellular → Status shows the ICCID, band and APN in use, and Status → Internet Status shows the active link and its IP address.
Yes, in the EMEA versions. Insert the mini SIM and enter the APN shown in your ThingSIM portal under Interface → Link Manager → WWAN1, with Automatic APN Selection off.
No. The R1510 takes a physical SIM; the R1510e is the version with an embedded eSIM.
Checked on 3 November 2026.
Roams across all four UK networks and uses whichever is strongest where the device is.
